And how do you celebrate New Year's Eve?

The Wiener Konzerthaus has numerous options for the time around the turn of the year: »All the best« wishes from portrait artist Erwin Steinhauer with Georg Graf, Joe Pinkl and Peter Rosmanith. The Strauss Festival Orchestra Vienna makes a musical declaration of love to Vienna by taking a trip back in time to the compositions of the Strauss dynasty and others around the turn of the century before last to mark the Strauss Year. Nikolaus Habjan's mastery of the art of whistling also dates back to this period and he will take you to lofty heights at his New Year's Eve gala. Regina Fritsch and Sven-Eric Bechtolf take a literary approach when they read from Schnitzler's former scandalous play »Reigen«; musical accompaniment is provided by the Musicbanda Franui. For those who prefer to celebrate the turn of the year in a traditional way, the performance of Beethoven's Ninth with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra is the right address. The King's Singers will provide an insight into the breadth of their repertoire under the motto »Long Live the King«.
