Three of the greatest singing stars of our time are shaping our new yet traditional »Meisterstimmen« cycle: Juan Diego Flórez presents himself with the Sinfonía por el Perú, a youth orchestra that he himself founded in 2011 modelled on the Venezuelan »Sistema«. The aim of this initiative is to give children from underprivileged families in his home country a perspective beyond poverty and violence. Now the orchestra under the direction of Ana María Patiño-Osorio accompanies him in graceful arias from Italian bel canto and folk songs from Latin America. The celebrated tenor Benjamin Bernheim sings the most beautiful arias from his operatic roles and ethereal mélodies from French Romanticism and late Romanticism.
