School concerts for inclusive classes

School concert »klangberührt«
Tuesday, 29 September 2026, 11.00–12.00 (Ciara Moser, »The Rose of Battle«)
Monday, 9 November 2027, 11.00–12.00 (Mamadou Diabate)
Thursday, 8 April 2027, 11.00–12.00 (Aires Tropicales Quintet)
Cost: free of charge
Recommended for children and young people aged 8–12

In the 2026/27 season, our inclusive concert format »klangberührt« will continue as a school concert. The concert experience is aimed at inclusive schools and integration classes with pupils aged between 8 and 12, both with and without disabilities. For this format, the distance between the stage and the audience in the Schubert-Saal is reduced. This creates a concert format in which much is possible and permitted: a space in which pupils are allowed to express their feelings and emotions spontaneously – barrier-free, in the truest sense of the word. Music educator Lilian Genn interacts with the audience, and the use of light and colour appeals to all the senses – thereby enabling a holistic and comprehensive approach to listening to music.

Ciara Moser »The Rose of Battle«
Irish-Austrian bassist and composer Ciara Moser received international acclaim for her debut album »Blind. So What?«. Now the award-winning artist is performing at the Vienna Konzerthaus for the first time. In »The Rose of Battle«, she blends folk with modern jazz and fusion.

Mamadou Diabate
Mamadou Diabate, a balafon player originally from Burkina Faso, has been living in Vienna since 2000. Together with his band, he has long been a fixture on the international world music scene. His music blends West African rhythms with pop, jazz and funk.

Aires Tropicales Quintet
This wind quintet invites you on a journey for the senses. Through song, dance and instrumental music, the ensemble brings Cuban culture to life. In a programme ranging from Compay Segundo’s »Chan Chan« to Ravel’s »Boléro«, they blur the boundaries between genres.
