School concert »KlangBildNatur«

The Young Masters Ensemble, 15 young people from the »mdw talent lab« support programme, presents music by Antonio Vivaldi, Claude Debussy, Joseph Haydn and Camille Saint-Saëns. Under the direction of director Philipp Lossau, the ensemble creates a fascinating programme that playfully and creatively depicts the relationship between music and nature. Students from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna transform the young musicians and the stage into a dreamscape that turns the concert experience into a visual spectacle.

The school concert is free of charge and is aimed at pupils from 1st to 4th grade primary schools and 1st grade MS/AHS.

A co-operation between Wiener Konzerthaus and mdw - University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna

Sing-Along »Blauli«

With the butterfly »Blauli« singing takes centre stage. Equipped with songbooks and instruments, musicians visit the children and prepare them for a very special concert using song and dance. The highpoint of the inclusive participation project is the performance of songs from all over the world in a concert in the Mozart or Schubert Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus.

Registration Information

Registration is only possible for primary schools that wish to participate with all classes. Participation is free of charge.

Allocation to the dates is based on the schools' pre-registration. The dates for the school workshops will be arranged individually with the schools once registration has been confirmed.

The teacher coaching sessions will take place on 24.09.2024 and 06.03.2025 from 16:00-18:00 at the Wiener Konzerthaus. You will be invited to one of the two dates in good time.

Concerts and rehearsals

School concerts with the Vienna Philharmonic or the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, as well as famous soloists are an interesting and entertaining way to make classical works accessible to children. The Vienna orchestras also allow the young audience to look over their shoulders during rehearsals in the Wiener Konzerthaus.

Guided tours and workshops

Musical issues and the organization and execution of concerts in one of Europe’s leading concert houses are explained during backstage tours for school classes. The tours give children and young people unique behind-the-scenes insights and allows them to accompany the star soloists from their arrival at the porter’s lodge to the start of the concert just before they take the stage.

Sponsor school

Every year, a school has the opportunity to make intensive use of the entire mediation offer, from rehearsals to artist visits, backstage tours or workshops. The pupils' own ideas are implemented, for example, in unconventional concert formats in their district or at the Wiener Konzerthaus. Applications for the school year 2024/25 are possible!

Concert visits

The Wiener Konzerthaus is one of the leading concert halls in Europe. With its international programme ranging from classical masterpieces to jazz or world music and international music stars, it is already shaping Vienna's musical life in its 110th season. Concert visits for students aged 13 and over can be booked individually at reduced rates and subject to availability.
