ZAM - an outreach project of the Wiener Konzerthaus
Music and dialog, city and country, local and global, professional and amateur musicians, orchestras and bands, old and young! Music connects and brings different people together, whether as composers and artists, musicians and participants or as listeners and concertgoers. People who make and listen to music together feel connected.
The focus here is on community: ZAM is an outreach project of the Wiener Konzerthaus that uses this immediate effect of music to strengthen social cohesion and thus democratic coexistence in society through diverse encounters, intergenerational dialogues and, above all, delightful concert experiences. The project was initiated by multi-percussionist Martin Grubinger, Werner Bachstein from the Porticus Foundation and the artistic director of the Wiener Konzerthaus Matthias Naske. ZAM visits locations throughout Austria with established professional musicians and offers unique opportunities for encounters and exchanges in collaboration with local music associations and other local institutions
Following the successful ZAM project phase 2024 in Ebensee, the next stage of the Vienna Konzerthaus initiative is now underway. From May 29 to 31, 2025, ZAM will make a stop in Langen near Bregenz and bring musicians from »Federspiel«, one of the best wind ensembles in the world, to the Bregenzerwald.
In collaboration with the Musikverein Langen, under the direction of Christoph Bechter, and the Vorarlberg music educator Evelyn Fink-Mennel, the musicians from Federspiel will spend three days in the spirit of music, community and exchange, with workshops, rehearsals and a big final concert.
