Belcea & Ébène

 

Those who liked Artemis & Belcea will also love Belcea & Ébène! Since making its debut in the Mozart Hall in 2010, Quatuor Ébène has become one of the cornerstones of chamber music at the Wiener Konzerthaus: Regular appearances in the »Chamber Music« cycle, an acclaimed guest performance in the 2014 »Quartette international«  cycle and its own special cycle in the Beethoven Year 2020, which unfortunately remained fragmented due to the pandemic, have made the internationally acclaimed French ensemble a favourite with Viennese audiences. Having already stood in for the indefinitely suspended Artemis Quartet in the 2021/22 season, Quatuor Ébène will also participate nominally in the joint cycle with the Belcea Quartet from the 2022/23 season. This time, both ensembles will set French accents: Quatuor Ébène not only because of its origins but also with a work by Richard Dubugnon, the Belcea Quartet with a new string quartet by Guillaume Connesson, among others. Impressionism and French late Romanticism are also represented in the programme with Debussy and Franck.
