Symphonie Classique A
Viennese classics on the road: The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen puts the London symphonies by Haydn on the program, and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra takes Mozart to Prague with mezzo-soprano Ann Hallenberg under the baton of clarinetist Martin Fröst. Camerata Salzburg and Jan Lisiecki relate Ludwig van Beethoven to Paris, where the revolutionary composer Etienne-Nicolas Méhul, whom he held in high esteem, worked. The Camerata Salzburg devotes itself to early solo string works by Mozart, with Janine Jansen interpreting the Violin Concerto in B flat major. Further solo highlights will be provided by Anastasia Kobekina and Yulianna Avdeeva. The brilliant finale will be Beethoven's 5th Symphony and his Mass in C major with an outstanding ensemble of singers under the direction of portrait artist Emmanuel Tjeknavorian.
