Image, sound, emotion: »Our Daily Bread« by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau is about the conflict-laden love between a girl from the big city and a farmer's son against the backdrop of the global economic crisis. Electronics star Arandel and pianist Édouard Ferlet give the epic drama a new sound dimension. Erich von Stroheim's masterpiece »The Merry Widow« is based on Léhar's operetta of the same name - also musically, as the ball siren waltz forms the centrepiece of Tobias Schwencke's new setting, performed by Ensemble Resonanz. Wolfgang Puschnig, grand seigneur of jazz, premieres his music to Georg Wilhelm Pabst's »Pandora's Box« with Wolfgang Mitterer, centred around the femme fatale Lulu. For the finale, the RSO Vienna will perform the original music to Chaplin's classic »City Lights« under the direction of Timothy Brock.
