An evening like back then: On the trail of the art whistle

The stage is his life: Nikolaus Habjan is a natural when he steps onto the »boards that mean the world.« Whether as a puppeteer, a whistler or an emcee, the Graz native, born in 1987, who has also made a name for himself as a director, takes the helm on stage with verve to the delight of the audience. Shortly before the year draws to a close, Habjan soars to lofty heights with his whistling skills: for »Abpfiff 2023« he performs dizzying coloratura from arias by Handel, Mozart and Verdi, among others. But it is not only his whistling skills, which seamlessly follow the tradition of Baron Jean's artificial whistling in the 19th century, that create high spirits in the audience: Habjan is also a gifted emcee.
