Virtuoso registered

»Everything he touches becomes fantastic and unforgettable«, the New York Times wrote of Cameron Carpenter. Born in Pennsylvania in 1981, the organist is known for celebrating concerts like lavish (sound) festivals. This not only brought organ music greater attention away from the enthusiast circles, but Carpenter himself won prizes and a Grammy nomination, something no organist:in before him had managed to do. Carpenter has been a guest at the Vienna Konzerthaus several times with the touring organ he built and designed for it. Now he sits down at the magnificent Rieger organ and creates virtuoso registered tone paintings of Mussorgsky's »Pictures at an Exhibition«, to which he adds compositions by César Franck and Johann Sebastian Bach.
