They are young, live in New York City and are causing a sensation in the international jazz scene: the multi-award-winning pianist and composer Emmet Cohen is in demand both as a sideman and as a bandleader, is a member of Christian McBride's trio Tip City and counts the most famous jazz clubs as his extended living room. Vocalist Samara Joy has been considered a rising star in the jazz sky since winning the 2019 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and released her acclaimed debut album of works from the Great American Songbook in July 2021. In February, Cohen and Joy can be experienced for the first time at the Vienna Konzerthaus: they dedicate themselves to the intimate art of the duo and the vocal jazz icons of the 20th century such as Carmen McRae, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. Clear the stage for a strong double debut at »Jazz unplugged«!
