Wiener Konzerthausgesellschaft
Falco, fugues and film music
The Philharmonix are no ordinary classical formation. Instead of tails and bow ties, they wear T-shirts, dark suits - and a red jacket. The seven musicians, including members of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras, break musical boundaries. Their repertoire ranges from film music and pop to Bruckner and Schönberg - but above all they play their own compositions, written by Stephan Koncz and Sebastian Gürtler. The Philharmonix perform three times a year at the Wiener Konzerthaus, each time with a new program - without a printed program booklet, but with spontaneity and humor. Whether swing versions of Beethoven or Sting classics, their concerts are characterized by a love of experimentation and the highest musical quality. Now they are giving a best-of program in addition to their usual concerts.
