A New Generation

With his recording of Beethoven's only completed violin concerto op. 61 alongside the Munich Philharmonic and Valery Gergiev, Daniel Lozakovich has proven that he is now at the top of the world classical music scene. His tonal facets and precision have delighted critics and audiences alike. »More modern interpretations are not wrong - everyone experiments,« reports the 20-year-old violinist. "So if someone feels a certain way of playing Beethoven is right for them, that's fine - as are attempts to capture earlier playing styles that existed in Beethoven's time. Still, I think the goal is to capture how Beethoven heard the music in his head - the way he wanted it to be." At the Konzerthaus, he performs the landmark work with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra - Emmanuel Tjeknavorian is on the podium.
