Open-minded Space
Enthusiasm and enthusiasm are the reasons why members of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras founded the Philharmonix: They play everything they've ever felt like playing. What unites them is the pure joy of classical music. But their program goes far beyond that. In their brilliant new versions, they also rework jazz and Latin, Jewish folk music, Hollywood melodies and pop. They extract never-before-heard, original sides from all compositions - and skillfully put together what otherwise does not belong together. Whether the Philharmonix work on a pop song or a Viennese song, Prokofiev or Tchaikovsky, Gershwin or Piazzolla: classical music cannot be more entertaining, entertaining and clever. Their music is influenced by the sound aesthetics and tradition of the top orchestras they usually work for: Thilo Fechner (viola), Daniel Ottensamer (clarinet) and Ödön Rácz (double bass) play with the Vienna Philharmonic, Stephan Koncz (cello) and Noah Bendix-Balgley (violin) with the Berlin Philharmonic. They are joined by the outstanding soloists Christoph Traxler (piano) and Sebastian Gürtler (violin), who writes most of the new arrangements.
