»... paradoxically poignant«

Barbara Eckle of Deutschlandfunk described Bernhard Lang's 2014/15 paraphrase of Schubert's »Winterreise« as »unique, fascinating and paradoxically moving«. »The Cold Trip« is the subtitle of »Monadologie XXXII«, in which Lang translates Schubert's »cycle of gruesome songs« into today - both linguistically and musically: Lang transfers the original song by song into English and into sound worlds that hurry through the entire range of contemporary music in a concentrated manner. In a fraction of a second, Eva Resch has to oscillate between classical and pop styles and extended vocal techniques - and can thus show off the flexibility, changeability and expressiveness of her voice. Her Konzerthaus debut in December is also the Austrian premiere of Lang's complete »Cold Trip«: a true winter journey!
