Schubert: gripping and captivating!

That Elisabeth Leonskaja's heart beats for the music of Franz Schubert should be well known to all friends of piano literature: When she celebrated her 150th appearance at the Wiener Konzerthaus in 2010, she chose Schubert's last three sonatas as the program for the festive evening. In the 2015/16 season she performed a cycle entirely devoted to Schubert's sonatas. In the upcoming recital in the Great Hall, she will interpret, among others, the »Gastein Sonata« D 850. »Blow after blow gripping and sweeping! And on top of it an Adagio, belonging entirely to Schubert, dense, exuberant, that he can hardly find an end«, Robert Schumann wrote enthusiastically about the work in 1835 in his essay »Sonatas for Pianoforte«.
