Living in America

Joshua Redman, who has already played with greats such as Dave Brubeck, Chick Corea, Jack DeJohnette, Charlie Haden, Herbie Hancock, Quincy Jones, B. B. King, Yo-Yo Ma, Branford Marsalis, Brad Mehldau or Pat Metheny, honors the Vienna Konzerthaus with a new quintet! For his latest album - at the same time his debut on the legendary Blue Note label - »Where Are We«, the master saxophonist has invited Gabrielle Cavassa, who is only 29 years old and whose light, supple voice makes critics go into raptures. »›Where Are We‹ is about America«, Redman says, »at once a celebration and a critique, it's also, to varying degrees, a ballad album, a standards album, an album of romantic longing, social reflection, melodic invention, improvised adventure and, yes, maybe even a tribute album of sorts.«
