Harmonica, the Lenz is here

Let's go into spring with the stormy Styrian trio Sturm und Klang, consisting of the harmonica player and bass clarinetist Andreas Jamnik, the double bass player and guitarist Maximilian Ganster and the percussionist and harmonica player Johannes Kölbl. Carried by the Styrian harmonica and traditional folk music, they change instrumentation as well as genres. Here, customs enter into a perfect symbiosis with jazz, classical and world music - resulting in a wonderful sound.

Another harmonica instrument, but the Scottish concertina, shapes the music of the folk band Talisk. Like Sturm und Klang, it's a trio, with Mohsen Amini on concertina, Benedict Morris on fiddle and Graeme Armstrong on guitar. They drive the rhythms of Irish and Scottish traditional music with fiery energy that is contagious to the audience, and the instruments seem to compete.
