La fonte musica is an ensemble founded and directed by Michele Pasotti, whose aim is to interpret the extraordinary musical transitional period between the Middle Ages and the Humanistic Age, with particular attention to the Italian Trecento. Over the years, its explorations have reached as far as the end of the Renaissance, and here, too, it goes proverbially »ad fontes«: the ensemble translates with dedication and expertise the refinement and beauty of early music - including Monteverdi's style-defining »Marian Vespers« - into a sonically accomplished event.
