A Programme of the World

Valentin Uryupin is an exceptional musician in two respects: before he celebrated successes at the conductor's podium, he won numerous international competitions as a clarinetist and gave concerts worldwide. »Conductor Valentin Uryupin proves that thoughtfulness leads to more precise insights in listening.« (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) The repertoire promises a varied evening: in addition to Rachmaninoff's rapturous Symphony No. 3 and a powerful orchestral piece by the English composer Anna Clyne, Bohuslav Martinů's Piano Concerto No. 3 will be heard, which the Czech composer completed in New York in 1948. Finnish pianist Olli Mustonen, himself an expert Martinů interpreter, devotes himself to this impressive work.
