»An Alehouse Session« gives an insight into the changeable music in English taverns of the 17th century, when the theatres were closed by Oliver Cromwell and music had to be played in other places.
The concert programme tells of this turbulent era in music history with a colourful mix of Purcell suites, sea shanties and Scandinavian folk songs.
Brilliantly, Barokksolistene and Bjarte Eike evoke the raucous atmosphere in the pub of an English port town around 1690.
