Star with a mission

Anna Lapwood is well known to organ lovers: Born in England in 1995, the musician is, as The Sunday Times wrote, »much more than a talented organist, choirmaster and social media sensation: she is a star with a mission.« More than almost anyone else in her profession, she is committed to giving the organ a voice in concert and musical life in a variety of ways, even beyond the church and concert hall. To do this, the musician not only picks up the keys, but also the microphone: for example, when she is a presenter on BBC Radio3. In the programs of her own concerts, she demonstrates the almost limitless range of the instrument: Anna Lapwood devotes herself not only to the »classical« literature for solo organ by Jehan Alain, but also to the art of arrangement, in which she even penetrates the spheres of Hans Zimmer's film music. The artist, who has already won prestigious prizes, was recently awarded the Opus Klassik for her achievements. An unconditional recommendation!
